Consider this a test drive, so I'll be brief.
Welcome to At Cork-Two-Americans, a chronicle of my (Cody Jarman) and my wife's (Madilyn Peay) adventures in Cork, Ireland (see "About Us" for all the deets (or details if you aren't into the whole brevity thing)).
Full disclaimer these Two-Americans are not At-Cork just yet but we'll be there in T-minus a week and half when this blog will get a more thorough groundbreaking.
Expect humorous stories about mishaps at the supermarket, overexcited descriptions of local restaurants, and an occasional boring academic post about my studies (we are in Ireland for a reason after all).
Please spread our blog around to anyone interested in Ireland, travel, literature, fun, puppies, or the American Dream. Don't hesitate to reach out to us through comments or our "Contact" form either. A big part of this blog, apart from staying in touch with our many friends and family members States-side, is showing people the wonderful opportunities that organizations and initiatives like the Fulbright Commission, Sigma Tau Delta, and Phi Kappa Phi can provide. I owe this year in Ireland, probably the most important opportunity of my life, both to the great scholarship opportunities and the encouraging communities these organizations provide, so please consider this blog partly as a thank you letter to these groups, but also as an invitation to reach out to me if you are curious about getting involved with these or similar organizations or pursuing your own grant opportunities.
